The latest Legal 500 rankings bring plenty to celebrate at Brandsmiths, with progress across our teams and well-deserved recognition for several lawyers.

Led by Stephen Lowry, our trade marks, copyright and designs team has moved from a Firm to watch to Tier 4 in the PATMA: Trade mark attorneys category, despite only being established in Summer 2024.

These results confirm what clients and the market is saying: Brandsmiths is rapidly becoming the UK’s leading IP law firm.

Major moves in the tables  
This year has seen huge growth and success for the firm:

- PATMA: Trade Mark Attorneys - moved straight from a Firm to Watch to Tier 4 just two years after launching the practice. This is a huge milestone and proof of how quickly Brandsmiths has built market-leading capability for trade mark prosecution and strategy.

- Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment and Sport in the North West - maintained our position at Tier 2.

- Intellectual Property & Sports categories in London - retained our position as Tier 3 for Intellectual Property and Tier 5 for Sport, reflecting our central role in some of the highest-profile matters in the industry.

- Commercial Litigation in the North West - moved up to Tier 5. It’s great to see our Litigation team recognised for its stand-out results, depth of expertise and trusted client relationships.

Alongside the firm’s rankings, the 2027 Guide recognised the following individuals too:
