John is an Associate in the Commercial team. He advises clients across a range of sectors, including FMCG, entertainment, technology, and fashion on various issues relating to intellectual property and commercial matters.

He has experience in advising on emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and AR/VR, data and privacy issues as well as on a range of commercial contracts including IP licences and assignments, distribution agreements and sponsorship deals. In a past role, John undertook a secondment at a global fast food franchise.

John is also a member of the IPSOC and is part of the sub-working group of Tech London Advocates Blockchain which focuses on Legal & Regulatory matters. This group is supported by the Law Society and is responsible for the practice guidelines for lawyers in the blockchain space.

John was recognised by Legal 500 2022 as a Key Lawyer for TMT and has a diploma in Intellectual Property Law from Oxford University. He has contributed to the well known IPKat blog and has written for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice He was also a speaker at NFT London 2022 on the IP issues related to NFT Licences.
