Reports to: Director of Business Development
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Development (BD) Executive to join our dynamic team.
Working closely with the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding the firm's client base in key practice areas: IP Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Trade Mark Prosecution and Enforcement. You will develop and execute strategies that enhance our market presence, build relationships with potential clients, and support the firm’s long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to create and implement business development strategies aligned with the firm's goals and target markets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within key practice areas.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive insights, and opportunities for growth.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current clients, potential clients, and key stakeholders within the legal and business community.
- Support the firm's partners in managing client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction, while identifying cross-selling opportunities.
Business Development Initiatives:
- Develop and execute tailored marketing and business development initiatives, including proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
- Assist in organizing and attending client-facing events such as seminars, webinars, and networking events to promote the firm’s services.
- Manage and develop content for the firm's marketing channels (website, newsletters, social media) in collaboration with external vendors if needed.
Brand Development:
- Enhance the firm’s brand visibility and reputation by leveraging PR opportunities, industry events, and professional networks.
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging trends to ensure the firm stays competitive in its market positioning.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with the firm’s partners, associates, and administrative teams to ensure alignment on BD strategies and initiatives.
- Provide BD training and support to fee earners and staff, promoting a business development mindset throughout the firm.
Data & Reporting:
- Track and report on BD activities, ensuring transparency in the pipeline of opportunities and conversion rates.
- Provide regular reports and insights to the Director of Business Development on the status of initiatives and progress toward goals.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or related field.
4+ years of experience in business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
Proven success in client relationship management and business growth within legal or professional sectors.
Familiarity with Intellectual Property, Commercial Litigation, and Trade Mark Prosecution practice areas is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and market research abilities, with the capacity to translate insights into actionable strategies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, small team environment.
Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office Suite, and digital marketing tools.
