HR Generalist

General Overview:

As an HR Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting the firm’s people strategy and day-to-day HR operations. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will work across all areas of HR, providing practical, solutions-focused support to managers and employees. Your role will involve handling employee relations, supporting talent management, improving HR processes, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
 
HR Operations and Support

  • Deliver end-to-end HR support to managers and employees, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
  • Support the administration and improvement of core HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, and HR systems management.
 
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for a variety of roles, from posting job adverts to coordinating interviews and onboarding.
  • Work with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and advise on appropriate recruitment strategies.
  • Maintain candidate records and ensure a positive candidate experience.
 
Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance on issues such as performance, absence, conduct, and grievances.
  • Support initiatives to improve employee engagement and well-being.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
 
Performance and Development
  • Support the performance review process and advise line managers on effective performance management techniques.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives.
  • Help track employee progress and assist with career development planning.
 
Compliance and Policy
  • Ensure HR practices comply with current UK employment law and internal policies.
  • Assist with policy development, review, and implementation to reflect legislative updates and organisational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR.
 
HR Projects and Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in cross-functional HR projects to enhance the effectiveness of the HR function.
  • Recommend improvements to HR practices, documentation, and systems for better efficiency and employee experience.
 


What we are looking for:
A skilled and proactive HR Generalist to support the firm's people strategy and HR operations. This role involves providing end-to-end HR support, including managing employee relations, recruitment, talent development, and HR projects. You will work closely with managers and employees to enhance the overall HR function, promote a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.

Requirements and Skills:
Experience:

  • 2–4 years of broad HR experience, including exposure to recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Experience providing generalist HR support within a busy and dynamic environment.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or working towards) is preferred by not essential.
Skills:
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Practical problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
