Ten years ago, Brandsmiths’ CEO Adam Morallee set up an IP law firm with a team of 4 other lawyers.
It's been a journey.
From award wins to groundbreaking cases, we've come a long way—and we’re just getting started.

PRE 2014
Brandsmiths founder, Adam Morallee, was a Partner at a big London law firm. He had his own vision. Building an IP firm that had a fresh and modern way of doing things.
2014
Brandsmiths was established as an IP law firm with a team of 5 fee earners. 4 of those people are still with Brandsmiths to this day.
It's been a journey.

2014
Brandsmiths was established as an IP law firm with a team of 5 fee earners. 4 of those people are still with Brandsmiths to this day.
2015
Brandsmiths was ranked for the first time by Legal 500 & Chambers.
2016
We expanded to Manchester with the vision of offering a London-standard of elite IP legal services in the North. For the last 8 years, Michael Forrester, (Brandsmiths’ Head of Litigation) has also been Head of the Manchester Office.
Brandsmiths received our 1st award nomination for ‘Boutique Firm of the Year’ by The Lawyer.
And we had our first staff trip to Mykonos! Since then, we’ve been to some amazing places like Barbados and Antigua.

2017
2018
Our London office expanded. We moved from Gough Square on Fleet Street to Old Pump House in Aldgate, London.
2019
The Times recognised us as one of The UK’s Best Law Firms.
2022
Brandsmiths’ London office expanded once more! We moved from the 3rd floor of Old Pump House to occupy the Ground and Basement levels of the same building. In our new location we have more room for staff, client meetings and break-out space.
2023
2 of our cases were trialled in the UK Supreme Court. Intellectual property cases reaching the Supreme Court is very rare, so appearing twice in one year represents a major milestone for the firm.
2024
Brandsmiths is the UK’s leading IP boutique law firm. We are a multiple award-winning firm, recognised by industry professionals. This year we won ‘Boutique Law Firm of the Year’ at The Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards.
Over the last 10 years, we have turned over a combined total of £40 million. After 10 years of growth, we are just getting started.
Now, we celebrate with almost 50 staff across 2 offices - some very happy faces from some very yummy cupcakes!
